Updated: January 7, 2009
State election officials have decided to subpoena election records from Saint Francis County`s May primary. The director of the Arkansas Board of Election Commissioners said the county refused to provide them after the board received complaints about the election. The records would include the total number of votes case, ballots, printed and delivered to polls. It also would tell of any spoiled or unused ballots and how many Republican votes were cast in each precinct. However the county`s election director, Bettye Proctor of Forrest City, said she couldn`t provide the records because the county election commission`s office is in the middle of moving.
