Disney Honors Fordyce Teacher

Pamela Caldwell Vaughan, a high school biology and physical sciences teacher from Fordyce, has been honored by The Walt Disney Company. Vaughan was among 39 teachers Disney officials chose to honor out of a field of 150,000 nominees. The 39 were chosen by a national committee of educators for their creativity and inspirational teaching practices. Vaughan has received national attention for incorporating NASA`s space program in her classroom. Recipients of the 2004 DisneyHand Teacher Awards during the weekend received $10,000 each. Each school is to receive $5,000.
