Jonesboro City Councel Talks About Proposed Mall

Jonesboro`s city council has approved the creation of a special redevelopment district for the planned Mall at Turtle Creek project. The district will use tax increment financing for infrastructure improvements. It will effectively freeze property tax payment totals to local governments and school districts within the district boundary. The mall will be within the Jonesboro School District. Construction of the mall is projected to cost more than 100 million dollars. It is projected to open in the fall of 2005.
