Discussions are continuing on where to place
a state Game and Fish Commission nature center in central Arkansas.
The commission voted in January to build the center on the south
bank of the Arkansas River, near the Clinton Presidential Library.
But no agreement has yet been signed by Little Rock and the
commission while an architecture firm evaluates the site. The vice
chairman of the commission, Mike Freeze, says the nature center
could still be built in North Little Rock.
The center is to be one of four built by the game and fish
agency. Two have already opened, at Pine Bluff and Jonesboro, while
a third is planned for Fort Smith.
