The state land commissioners says his department is missing nearly $40,000 worth of equiment. Mark Wilcox told a legislative audit subcommittee yesterday that items apparently went missing before he took office in January 2003. Secretary of state Charlie Daniels was land commissioners when the times went missing. But Daniels says no one has contacted him about the missing property and he doesn`t know why items are missing from the department. Among the items missing were a computer scanner, digital cameras, printers, an oak cabinet, keyboards and monitors. Wilcox said he doesn`t think anyone stole the items, and speculated that Daniels` office traded them in for newer items.
