A federal judge says his decision will be released tomorrow on former basketball coach Nolan Richardson`s discrimination lawsuit against the University of Arkansas. US District Judge William R. Wilson Junior issued a one-sentence notice today in which he said the decision would be filed at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. The university fired Richardson March first, 2002, after he said he would leave if the school would buy out his contract. Arkansas administrators say the remark indicated Richardson had lost faith in his program. Richardson sued, claiming discrimination and violation of his free speech rights. Richardson is seeking nearly $9 million in back pay, other lost compensation and damages. ------ The Razorback Foundation, a fund-raising vehicle for the Arkansas athletic department, already is paying Richardson $500,000 a year until 2008 to buy out his contract. Richardson won 389 games at Arkansas, leading the Razorbacks to the 1994 NCAA title and the 1995 championship game.
