Arkansas Staff Officer with the 39th Infantry Brigade Faces Charges of Actions Unbecoming an Officer

Military authorities have accused a top staff officer deployed in Iraq with the Arkansas National Guard`s 39th Infantry Brigade of engaging in sexual relationsips with enlisted personnel. 43 year old Lietenant Colonel Fred Raymond Sampson of Little Rock was relieved of his duties as the Brigade`s Operations Office in mid-May, when an investigation began. Sampson has been charged with 24 violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and faces a possible court-martial, prison time, loss of military pay and benefits and dismissal from the army, if convicted. Sampson has been in the National Guard for 23 years.
