Farmers in the Arkadelphia area say that
heavy rains in the past few weeks are keeping them from working in
their fields. Some farmers say that the high water is preventing
them from cutting their hay and planting row crops.
Others say that crops they`ve already planted are drowning in
the water or are getting plagued by fungus. Estimates show that the
area received about nine inches of rain in June. A local Christmas
tree farm said the water won`t let workers prune the trees and has
soaked the grounds.
