Woman Convicted Of Killing Mother Gets Divorce

A woman who was convicted of killing her mother was granted a divorce from the man she claims forced her to commit the murder. Leslie MacKool petitioned for divorce from Michael MacKool and he did not contest. She was convicted May 28th of capital murder for stabbing her mother, Janie Ballard, 70 times last September. The former Missus MacKool claims her ex-husband forced her to do it so they could reap a large inheritance. At her trial, she alleged that her husband was physically and mentally abusive and told jurors that she never left him because he had made it clear that he would kill her if she did.
