Updated: January 7, 2009
Little Rock police say that they`ve arrested 21-year-old Eilert Bertrand for the shooting death of 26-year-old Antonio Alford. Police said they arrested Bertrand yesterday and said the two men lived in the same Little Rock apartment complex. Police were holding Bertrand last night at the Pulaski County jail. No bond amount had been set. Alford was found shot in the head, sitting in the front seat of a car in the apartment complex on Saturday night. He was dead at the scene. Alford was acquitted in July 2001 of the 1999 murder of Cannah Henderson, whose body was found burning on a road in rural Pulaski County. Police said they don`t know if Alford`s death is related to the earlier slaying. Alford`s ex-wife said the man was a good father to his five children but struggled with an addiction to marijuana laced with the drug PCP. She said the couple divorced a few months.
