Updated: January 7, 2009
A five-year-old boy was found to have methadone and PCP in his system when he came into Gravette Medical Center this week. The Benton County Sheriff`s Office is investigating and searching the parents` house. Melvin and Kelly Carpenter brought their son into the hospital when he appeared to be hallucinating and losing consciousness. They say they don`t know how the drugs got into their child`s system. Methadone is a drug used to treat drug addiction and PCP is an animal tranquilizer often used as an illicit party drug.
