A Little Rock attorney is serving as a defense adviser for a man accused of war crimes in the African nation of Sierra Leone. John Wesley Hall left Wednesday to serve as defense counsel for Samuel Hinga Norman -- if Norman decides he needs advice. Norman is the country`s former interior minister and is the most prominent of eleven men on trial in the first United Nations-backed war crimes trial. The trial began June third. Norman is representing himself but Hall was selected to act as a standby attorney. Hall knows the principal defender in the case, and that`s how he was chosen for the duty.
