Special session on education ends with uncertainty

The special legislative session on education has formally ended. But, uncertainty remains over whether the sweeping changes legislators approved are enough to satisfy a court order to overhaul Arkansas` public school system. The session has been in recess since February sixth. A handful of legislators reconvened for a few minutes -- starting at noon. The meeting lasted long enough to hear the final gavel on a record-long 61-day session in which the General Assembly attempted to respond to the state Supreme Court`s edict to breathe new life into a failing school system.
