Former Pulaski County Deputy Faces Manslaughter Charges

A former Pulaski County deputy sheriff faces a manslaughter charge in Saint Francis County stemming from a May interstate accident that killed his passenger. Twenty-five-year-old Joshua Plemmons of Little Rock appeared before Saint Francis County District Judge Steve Routon yesterday and was released on his own recognizance. Plemmons resigned from the Pulaski County sheriff`s office last week. He had worked for the department since April 2001. Plemmons is charged in a May Second wreck that killed passenger 24-year-old Kerry L- Patton of Mablevale. According to a state police report, Plemmons was trying to pass two tractor-trailers on the right shoulder of Interstate 40 near Shell Lake when the accident occurred.
