The Central Arkansas Library System wants to put a property tax renewal on the August 17th ballot. The vote would be to extend the system`s one-mill, 15-year property tax levy by up to seven years. The tax would generate almost 13 Million dollars, with the money going toward new branches, work at existing branches and for new materials. Former Senator David Pryor will be among 52 members of a committee that will campaign for passage of the ballot item.
