Updated: January 7, 2009
Authorities say four adults died in an early morning fire at a trailer home this morning in Crawford County. The Crawford County Sheriff`s Department is trying to positively identify the victims. Authorities received a call for help about 4 a.m. to the trailer off Arkansas 60 between Van Buren and Alma in Crawford County. Authorities don`t know what caused the fire, but believe the blaze started in a bedroom. The victims apparently died of smoke inhalation. Authorities say there was a Memorial Day gathering at the house Monday evening. A neighbor in a camper trailer behind the trailer house woke up and discovered the fire and called another neighbor for help, then ran to the trailer to help those inside, but the trailer was engulfed in flames.
