A Pulaski County Circuit Court jury has convicted a woman of killing her mother last year. The jury deliberated for nearly three hours into this evening before deciding that 27-year-old Leslie MacKool was guilty of capital murder and theft. Since prosecutors were not seeking the death penalty for MacKool, she will be sentenced to life in prison without parole. That`s the only other penalty for capital murder under Arkansas law. A sentence on the theft conviction is to be determined later. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for her husband, Mike MacKool, when he is tried beginning June 14th.
