Updated: January 7, 2009
A fire, which destroyed eight apartments at a Maumelle complex on Saturday, has been ruled accidental. The Maumelle Fire Department says the fire started in the laundry room of a second-floor apartment. Officials believe a dryer was the cause. Three departments responded to the blaze when the call went out Saturday afternoon. Once the fire was extinguished, ten people were left homeless. The fire chief turned the findings over to an insurance company for review.
