Randolph County Man Sentenced To Death In Quadruple Murder

Jurors in Randolph County returned death sentences today for a man convicted of killing four family members from Dalton. The jury also sentenced 49-year-old Billy Dale Green to life in prison on a kidnapping charge. Prosecutors and the defense made opening statements in the penalty phase after the guilty verdicts were handed down Friday. Jurors finished penalty deliberations today. Green was convicted of four counts of capital murder in the deaths of Carl Allen Elliott, his wife and their two children. Witnesses said Green had a dispute with Elliott over drugs and killed the family the night of July 29th, 1998.
