President Bush And John Kerry Both Expected In State Next Week

President Bush is expected to make an appearance in Fort Smith on Tuesday. The trip would be the third to Arkansas by the president since the start of the year. Arkansas is considered a key state in this year`s presidential election. While neither the White House nor the president`s re-election campaign would discuss the event, a public relations firm handling news conference that was set for Tuesday with Governor Huckabee said the governor had to cancel his appearance because of Bush`s visit to Fort Smith. Bush visited Arkansas eight times in 2000, when he beat Vice President Al Gore by 50-thousand votes to win the state`s six electoral votes. Presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry is expected in Little Rock for a fund-raiser Wednesday.
