A former treasurer for the City of Horseshoe Bend was sentenced to 210 years in prison Wednesday on multiple rape charges. A jury found Charles "Chuck" Simmons, 49, guilty of five counts of rape and one count of producing and directing a sexual performance. Deliberations took about two hours. The victims, all male, were as young as 12 at the time. All testified in court. The jury of seven women and five men gave Simmons 40 years on each of the rape counts and ten years for producing the sexual performance. He was found not guilty of sexual assault, one of the lesser charges. Simmons, who requested a change of venue from Izard County to Cleburne County, told KARK 4 News he plans to appeal. Four other co-defendents are slated for trial May 17.
