Check Scare Today For UAMS Employees

Updated: January 7, 2009
Paychecks for 3,000 employees at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences that were thought to be delayed until Monday will be on time. UAMS spokeswoman Leslie Taylor said this morning that a computer glitch caused the delay. But by this afternoon she said everything seemed to be in order and that everyone should be paid on time. According to Taylor, the delay would have affected three thousand employees who are paid monthly and receive their checks via direct deposit. Taylor said even though the glitch was cleared, UAMS still is calling banks to make sure any resulting overdraft fees would be waived.
