Washington County officials estimate that
300 miles of road in the county need repair after the weekend`s
floods. They say it will cost between two and five million
dollars to fix all the damaged roads.
County Judge Jerry Hunton said the county is hoping to hear that
help will be available from the federal government.
County officials say some money will have to be spent
immediately to make some roads passable. They hope to be reimbursed
by the Federal Emergency Management Agency somewhere down the line,
probably several months from now.
