Hot Springs Bottled Water Company Bought By Little Rock Company

The new owners of Mountain Valley Spring
Water say they hope to put the product in every fine restaurant,
resort and fine hotel in America. The company was founded in Hot
Springs in 1871 and was most recently owned by Sammons Enterprises
of Dallas.
The company lost one-third of its revenue in recent years as it
tried to compete with Dasani, Ozarka and Aquafina in the retail
industry. Today the company announced that it had been bought by
Clear Mountain Spring Water of Little Rock. The new company will
keep the Mountain Valley Spring Water name.
Breck Speed, chief executive officer, said the company will
market its historical prestige. He said all individual and cooler
bottles for Mountain Valley Spring water will be glass, which will
appeal to upscale establishments.
