Bridge Buckles In Shannon Hills

An 80-foot bridge on Shannon Hills` main road buckled Thursday when a truck crossing it caused the structure to buckle. Mayor Larance Davis said the state Highway Department inspected the bridge in January. Davis said the bridge collapsed because it was overloaded -- not because of structural problems. The bridge will have to be replaced, rather than repaired.
