A Jefferson County jailer has been arrested
after marijuana and tobacco were found during a routine search.
Harvey Robinson, an officer at the Jefferson County Detention
Center, was reportedly carrying less than an ounce of suspected
marijuana on Tuesday when prison officials conducted a search.
Robinson had been working at the jail since June 23.
Arkansas Department of Correction spokeswoman Dina Tyler said
officers also found several ounces of tobacco, which is also
prohibited. The Arkansas State Police arrested Robinson.
Jefferson County deputy prosecutor Kyle Hunter said charges of
furnishing a prohibited article in a jail and possession of a
controlled substance with intent to deliver, both felonies, would
be filed against Robinson.
