Updated: January 7, 2009
Arkansas teachers are undergoing training in an effort to prevent acts of violence on school campuses. The Beebe School District attended seminars taught by Mike Nelson of Keystosaferschools.com. School leaders were taught to have a plan in place and practice table-talk drills. "Sometimes we start letting down our guard, so there is a desperate need for schools to be prepared," said Nelson. Nelson has conducted more than 300 seminars across the US and Canada. Demand for the seminars rose after school shootings schools in Jonesboro and Colorado.
