A Beebe man accused of killing his mother and grandmother has pleaded innocent to two capital murder charges. Twenty-nine-year-old Chester Dee Welch wore a bullet-resistant jacket over his jail clothes as he entered the innocent pleas before Circuit Judge Bill Mills. Welch is accused of killing 65-year-old Patricia Welch and 84-yer-old Mildred Floyd on March 16th in their Des Arc mobile home. Authorities say Welch had a fight with the boyfriend of his estranged wife in Beebe on the evening of the slayings and then drove to Des Arc and locked his father out of the mobile home. Police had already been called to the home and heard at least two gunshots while Welch was inside. After the gunshots, Welch drove away from the home, and police arrested him after a short chase.
