Prison officials still looking for 8 released early

State prison officials are still looking for eight convicts they mistakenly set free early. In all, 32 inmates were mistakenly released early -- all serving time for meth-related
convictions.
State prison officials noticed their mistake a few days ago and began rounding up the convicts Friday. Many had been free for months before parole officers took them into custody.
Several parole officers across the state are working overtime trying to find the convicts. They are going to their houses, talking to their relatives. Prison spokeswoman Dina Tyler says if the men are found soon and don`t run, they will not face additional jail time.
All 32 were supposed to serve at least 70 percent of their sentence in prison before they were paroled. But prison officials mistakenly classified them as needing to spend as little as a sixth of their sentence in prison, counting time off for good behavior.
