Arsenal Holds Public Viewing

Updated: January 7, 2009
The public will be able to view equipment the Army plans to use to destroy chemical warfare items stored at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. The public meeting will be next Thursday evening at the Creasy Auditorium at the arsenal. The items are not part of the arsenal`s chemical weapons stockpile. The weapons will be destroyed under an international treaty in an incineration process the arsenal has been testing for months. The Army plans to apply to the state Department of Environmental Quality for a permit to use the equipment to treat more than 12-hundred recovered chemical warfare items.
