State Medical Board Gets Failing Grade In New Report

A public-interest group based in Washington says Arkansas`s Medical Board is one of the ten worst-performing in the country. The group called Public Citizen said it based its rankings on information from the Federation of State Medical Boards on the rate of serious disciplinary actions taken in each state. A news release today from Public Citizen said the board in Rhode Island was the worst-performing. Coming up from the bottom, the other states listed among the ten worst were Wisconsin, Minnesota, Delaware, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Arkansas and Maryland. The release said the best-performing board was in Kentucky, followed by Wyoming, North Dakota, Arizona, Oklahoma, Vermont, Montana, Alaska, West Virginia and Ohio. Posted by Mike Hellgren
