By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The federal Internal Revenue Service says taxpayers who haven`t yet filed their returns for 2003 can still get last-minute help. The deadline for filing the returns is Thursday, April 15th. That`s also the deadline this year for filing state income tax returns -- a month earlier than what it used to be. The I-R-S listed several sources where taxpayers can get help with their FEDERAL returns. They include: --On-line help at www.irs.gov --Telephone help at 1-800-829-1040, which taxpayers can also call to find the nearest locations and hours for free tax help from volunteers. That help is available to those with incomes less than 35-thousand dollars. --Walk-in Taxpayer assistance centers in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Jonesboro and Little Rock.
