Little Rock fire marshal Sammy Baker has these tips for creating a home fire escape plan:
-sit in your living room
-map out routes through your home leading from all bedrooms
-time the route that`s the quickest
-investigate all windows
-make sure windows can open from the inside and aren`t painted shut
-unblock routes to doors
-equip second floor rooms with rope ladders
