Fire officials in Hot Springs say a home
that Bill Clinton lived in as a youth was badly damaged by a fire
last night. Officials say the fire started in a car engine in the
garage at 213 Scully Street and quickly spread to the rest of the
house. The fire department received the call around 9 p.m. and the
fire was extinguished about 30 minutes later.
Clinton was born in Hope, but he moved to Hot Springs in 1953
and graduated from high school there.
The home that burned was one his family lived in during his
early years in Hot Springs.
