Lincoln Pushes For Soldier`s Rights

Senator Blanche Lincoln is proposing a Soldier`s Bill of Rights. She says the document will show soldiers that they can rely on the government to take care of them while they protect their nation. The Soldiers Bill of Rights includes proposals to: --Eliminate the disability tax taken out of military retirement pension checks; --Allow members of the National Guard and Reserves to draw full retirement benefits at Age 55, like civilian federal workers. Currently the age to get such benefits is 60; --Allow Guard and Reserve members full College G-I benefits after two years of cumulative active duty. Currently two years` continuous service is required.
