Commercial database giant Acxiom Corporation
says it has cut 5.4% of its workforce. A
spokesman for the company based at Little Rock says the job cuts
total 230 positions nationwide. The company says the jobs are to be replaced
with advanced technology in a company-wide reorganization.
Out of the total, the reduction has eliminated 93 jobs at Conway
and 37 in Little Rock. The balance were cut from other locations,
primarily in Illinois, Arizona and California.
Dale Ingram, an Acxiom spokesman, said the jobs were eliminated
over ten days and across the company. He said they included
positions in human resources, data programing, data entry and
marketing. The company analyzes data fields for credit card
issuers, banks, auto manufacturers, telecommunications companies
and retailers.
