Russellville man on trial for infant murder

The trial for Peter David Vega began in Pope County today. Prosecutors allege Vega was taking care of his 6 month old son Elias in April of last year. They say early one morning Vega placed his hand over the infants mouth and nose and held it there for 90 seconds. He called for an ambulance 2 and a half hours later. Vega`s defense attorney says this is not homicide. The plan to introduce evidence concerning the mother`s actions during her pregnancy.
