Arkansas Fishing Report: July 15 - 17

Right now, I've got about four different areas that are really catching fish. Greers Ferry, Lake Maumelle, Lake Conway and Little Red River. My hot spot is Lake Maumelle. Right now, the bass fishing's really good with jigs 15 to 20 foot. Look for bait -- that's what's going to get you some good bassin' in there.
Little Red River's coming in really good. Good sizes for the first time in 20 years, Billy Lindsey's telling me. The water's real low about daylight until about 10:00 am. After that, they're starting to pick up the water flow and they're really catching a lot of fish drifting.
Lake Conway, the brim fishing's still on fire ten feet out with crickets. Catfish is on fire and, believe it or not, they're catching them on crickets from the bank.
My buddup up at Greers Ferry tells me that the hybrids are running. Go up there and look for them early and late. Throw a Cindy K and you'll catch the hybrids.
Okay, remember Fish for the Fallen -- I'm going to give details every week. Right now I've got three good sponsors -- Redneck Remedy, Landers Toyota and Arkansas Marine Skeeter have guaranteed $2,000 to the winner of this tournament which is October 28.
Okay, the lure of the week right now is the SPRO frog. They come in many different colors. Sometimes you want to go dark; I always throw it on the seven foot heavy rod, braid only. A secret of mine: clip about a half inch off the tail. Everybody has their own secrets, that's mine. I think you can catch a lot of fish doing that. You can pick your SPRO frogs up at Fish N Stuff in Sherwood or Greers Ferry.
I'm Big Sarge and I'll see you next Thursday.
