About 350 workers at Arkansas Nuclear One
have agreed to a new contract that will raise their wages by three
percent each of the next two years.
In exchange, the employees agreed to increase their copayments
for medical benefits from 20 percent to 25 percent.
The workers originally rejected the copay increase, and the
union`s business manager said yesterday that they are not any more
satisfied than they were with management`s first offer.
But Mitchell said the workers ultimately decided against a
strike.
The power plant produces more than half of the electricity used
in Arkansas.
