Updated: January 7, 2009
Attorney General Mike Beebe has rejected the ballot title for a proposed constitutional amendment that would allow two individuals to marry regardless of gender, race or religion. The proposal would also prohibit any single person with children under the age of 18 from marrying. Under the proposed amendment, sale or distribution of birth control would not be allowed in the state, either. Beebe said the wording of the proposal was too ambiguous. Posted by Mike Hellgren
