Federal Agents Withdraw From Search For Fugitives

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Federal agents have withdrawn from the hunt for two fugitives wanted for shooting a state trooper and sought for questioning in the disappearance of two neighbors. Also, state police have expanded their search to a mountain next to the area where they found an all-terrain vehicle belonging to the missing couple. Agents from the FBI and the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives withdrew from the search. The latest finds on the trail include water bottles stashed in caves and hollow logs in the acres of dense forest being scoured by officers. A scent trail picked up by bloodhounds has all but gone cold. The fugitives include 49-year-old convicted felon Mark.
