Man Gets 50 Years In Prison For Killing Newspaper Carrier

After pleading no-contest to first-degree murder in the April slaying of Little Rock newspaper carrier, a Little Rock man was sentenced to 50 years yesterday. Twenty-year-old Richard Reed was charged in the death of 71-year-old Carl Bevill. Bevill was shot to death in downtown little rock while putting gas in his van before delivering newspapers. Reed`s co-defendant, 17-year-old Roy Richard, faces a capital murder charge and is scheduled for trial in April.
