Students Get $100 Shopping Spree for Supplies

It may be hard to believe, but school is already just about a month away.
Tuesday night, some students who may otherwise have a hard time buying back to school supplies got to go on a shopping spree.
30 kids with the Big Brothers - Big Sisters of Central Arkansas got a $100 shopping spree at Academy Sports and Outdoors to buy uniforms, backpacks, shoes and other supplies.
"They're very, very important," says Miceala, one of the "little sisters" who got a gift card. "Just to get the education, for me to be what I want to be when I grow up, I need an education."
Caleb Lites with Academy Sports & Outdoors says the entire night went over well.
"I think they've enjoyed it, they've had a lot of fun picking out shoes, their backpacks and it's a great night."
Nights like this one are held in 12 cities throughout our area of the country.
