Charter One Financial says it has an agreement
with Wal-Mart Stores to open 67 in-store banking centers in six
states.
The first in-store bank will open in Martinsville, Indiana, and
others will be located in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
Pennsylvania and New York.
Bentonville-based Wal-Mart is the world`s largest retailer.
Mark Grossi, Charter One`s executive vice president and chief
retail officer, says the arrangement with Wal-Mart demonstrates
Charter One`s commitment to building its retail presence.
Charter One has 43 (b) billion dollars in total assets, making
it one of the nation`s 25 largest bank holding companies. It has
more than 600 banking locations.
