It looks like "NASCAR Dads" could be to the 2004 presidential campaign what "Soccer Moms" were to the 96 race. President Bush was at the Daytona to kick the race off; in many ways, he was also starting his re-election campaign. With close contests expected in states like Arkansas, Louisiana and Florida, both parties say the support of Nascar Dads (i.e., white and middle-class men) could prove the difference at the polls.
