Fayetteville police are investigating an
attempted robbery in which a store owner and a clerk were assaulted
with pepper spray.
Police Chief Rick Hoyt says the attack occurred this morning,
but the would-be robber ran from the convenience store without any
money. Hoyt says the man first approached the owner and demanded
money from the till, then squirted the pepper spray at the owner
and a clerk.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, about
five-foot-ten inches to six feet tall, wearing a blue jacket, dark
shirt and khaki pants. He also wore a baseball cap with a red
front.
