Pine Bluff Budget Problems

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Pine Bluff Mayor Dutch King is suggesting that some employees drop to working only 32 hours per week to help trim the city`s strained budget. King says the city would rely on volunteers to cut their hours -- and their pay. From a 40-hour week, dropping to 32 hours represents a 20 percent reduction. King says the move would be temporary until the city can straighten out its finances. He says the workers would still be considered full-time employees.
