A man accused of slaying a family of four six years ago begins his trial in Pocahontas today. Charles Wayne "Chad" Green, age 28, is charged with four counts of capital murder along with his father Billy Dale Green, age 47. Chad Green`s brother Jason Edward Green was charged with hindering apprehension and will testify in both his brother`s and his father`s trials. The men are accused of murdering the Elliott family in 1998 over a bad drug deal. But investigators and several Randolph County prosecutors were not ready to press charges against the Greens until late last year. Prosecutor Henry Boyce said 350 people will be in the jury pool today before Circuit Judge Harold Erwin. But he also said jury selection probably will NOT begin until tomorrow. The Greens are charged with killing Carl Allen Elliott, his wife Lisa and their young children, Felicia and Gregory. They are also accused of kidnapping Felicia and witnesses testified in affidavits that the two sons raped the girl before killing her. Her body was found two years after the rest of her family.
