Local Company Deals With Credit Card Fraud

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Acxiom Corporation says it is partnering with credit bureau TransUnion to offer a fraud prevention program that allows businesses to check the validity of credit-seeking customers. The program will combine information from both companies and provide it to subscribers. Acxiom says the Fraud Management Platform will help customers weed out fraudulent credit card applicants and users. Little Rock-based Acxiom is one of the world`s largest consumer database companies and Chicago-based TransUnion is one of three credit bureaus, with Equifax Incorporated and Experian Incorporated, that keep records on credit customers. The new program would allow subscribers to pull information from both TransUnion and Acxiom databases to ensure that credit customers are who they say they are. The companies said the program would make credit application processing quicker and implement safeguards against identity theft. Posted by Mike Hellgren
