Man Faces Charges After Altheimer Officer Shot and Kidnapped

An Altheimer man faces a charge of attempted capital murder of a police officer. Fifty-six-year-old Lum A Creggett also is charged with kidnapping and terroristic threatening of Altheimer Officer William El-Amin Junior. Creggett allegedly shot the officer in the leg during a struggle after Creggett told the officer about a missing relative. Creggett also was charged with residential burglary, false imprisonment, terroristic threatening, and third-degree battery involving his former wife, 53-year-old Ethel Saunders of Altheimer.
